Teamwork is essential.

The Sister School Exchange Program is the product of an intensely collaborative process: students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community leaders work closely together to create enriching exchange experiences for our German and American participants.  This multidimensional collaboration requires a free flow of ideas, constructive feedback, and active decision making from all parties involved in the international partnership.

The Magic of SSEP

The real "magic" of SSEP is rooted in the relationships that form among students and their host families. The fundamental goal of this program is to provide a framework for experiential learning, and we endeavor to achieve this objective by inviting our youngest generation of scholars to explore different viewpoints and distant places through lasting friendships and authentic, affordable cultural experiences.  Whereas most travel abroad programs are prohibitively expensive and/or largely touristy in nature, the Sister School Exchange Program minimizes travel costs and amplifies cultural opportunities by having participants host each other in their own homes. Students attend their respective schools, participate in program events/activities, tour local sites, and become an "adopted" member of each other's families. This immersive experience fortifies the bonds that connect our "sister" communities and ultimately empowers our students to realize their full potential as global citizens and informed leaders.
